Hopeful & Optimistic

As rabindranath tagore said...
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake
lets anlayze are we there yet.
From the time I gain sense to judge things, lets put things in chronological order.
In 80's it was caged economy, babudum at its heigh corruption and govt jobs the moset sough after thing after women though. There has been lethargic attitude and limited freedom of expression, phone a luxury, car a dream and owning a house Nirvana..sterotype cinema showing all permutation of love.Politics of religion. BJP coming in power riding on ram rath. A generation commited and confined to itself and family. National issues were topics for debate in dinning room as people were having lots of time and social bonding was deep rooted.
90's sees a transition from conservative to moderate and there was a generation shift. People have started questioning themselves and IT has start budding as alternate career. This marks the rise of middle class in a way.Nothing fundamentally has changed but signs of change were emminent as coming of BJP in power after congress, political death of VP singh, accessibility of phones and mushrooming of coaching centres.
In 21st century , a liberal economy with image make over and people recognizing India for better reasons than poverty and land of elephants and snake charmer. We saw movies changing for good where love is no more a national issue and people are ready to experiment. oh Boy, evolution of media , rise of telecom !! arent they stupendous. Reduction in corruption though we are some 123 on scale of honesty, an enthusiased generation, better infrastructure, rise of corporate and media presure to mend wrong doings.Young generation being more involved and vocal, houses turning into flats and people like me venting frustraion on net. This generation ask question and doesnot wait for answers they find themselves. They engage at NGO level, build human chains against injustice, run a marathon for environment and most important they dare to give a part of thei meal rather than save a pie for tomorrow.
I belive in future and have faith in it. I hope this will leave you hopeful and optimist.
