I have been following this movement and
outside supporter as Left to congress in UPA I days. Outside, because I
have not actively participated but idea resonates with me. I support
the cause without doing too much dissection of things and unduly
opinionated
In days of media, everything is
scrutinized to minute level. Be it Maninder Sing or Kapil advising Sachin to
retire... or people from congress giving morality lesson to Anna team
...observe the paradox.
I am writing this against the
backdrop of Anna’s one day Jantar Mantar fast and was seeing debate "Kab
Tak Jantar Mantar". It was more focused on "why you folks are still
shouting”..shut up and F** off. Why are you making so much fuss when no
political party is ready to take the bait. How long can you continue
this? Discussion was more around, has he followed all the rules from
some hypothetical "How to run a movement" constitution.
Perhaps you and me are no
different and are lost in details of things, being analyst. I believe the
larger question is what I did in my capacity as individual. I am
proud of few of my few friends as they have taken pain to visit Ram Leela and
other IAC discussion and engaged with movement within their
own limited way. In democracy, count does matters and
the largest contribution we can make is by adding to crowd.
We can find fault
with Gandhi and Bhagat Sing as well. Had Gandhi and other freedom
fighters born in today’s world, they might have to face likes of Manish Tiwari
questioning their authority and legitimacy for fighting for country.
Anna’s movement is big fight
against establishment and this needs a big heart and deserves oodles of respect
and support. Aren’t they saying what we know and keep discussing in our drawing
room. They are bringing common man voice to streets, to media and questioning
high headedness of political class. When was last we saw someone echoing
national interest, national plight and making it heard? He is fighting our
fight. He is been upright and straight and not mincing words and thinking too
much of being politically correct, not fooling people like other political
parties. Very true to Indian DNA as we are not known to
be sophisticated and good in disguising feelings.
It is easy to question Anna
than Sonia and others. I am yet to see any channel asking Sonia Gandhi,
Manmohan Sing with same audacity that why you are making a fool of people and
not giving a committed bill as Manmohan is shouting in
parliament and red fort speeches. Also, why are you trying to fool people by
wrapping crap as Lokpal, as it defies basis framework of logic to prove that it
is strongest bill and path breaking and revolutionary as quoted by Rahul Gandhi
in his parliamentary speech. -"game changer" and how
I am not even eligible to
comment on the nature of movement and its fine prints. However, all I know
there is no definite right and wrong. For once, Let’s forget the details
and support the cause. It is the cause that’s compelling, how you achieve is a
journey. We are NO third party to this. This is not Arab spring happening in
Egypt, Syria or Lebanon .This is happening right in our county and at our
doorsteps. Also, this is not a movie or cricket match and critical views are
unwarranted. You are NOT spectator curiously watching “ANNA vs Govt”.
I have seen people saying Anna
kae movement ki hawa nikaal gayee but then does that not mean it’s our failure
too. It took us 60 years to reach this stage and If we fail now then when?
It is still a big question mark
if Anna movement will be successful and will cheap politics make it die natural
death. It will be our loss than ANNA. We might have to answer ourselves as why
we let this movement fail. Team Anna can still die with their held head high.
They did their best, perhaps we let them down. It’s in our interest that
this movement succeeds. Let people say that there was time when Indians come on
street to change system than there was Anna who failed. I would prefer former.
