Election 2012- An Observer's View

There are many categories of Indian electorate e.g Enthusiastic, Hyper-active, Nonchalant, Observer, Crying baby, Eternally Pessimist and of other sorts that you can think of. However, it effects us all and that's reality. The way we chose to react, put us in categories as appropriate to us.
I belong to Observer category. I have been following elections keenly and I am sure that there may be millions other, keenly waiting for election results. The grandeur of this is event is evident by the fact that millions is still a small number in a country of billion.
The results were so well crafted that only God could have scripted better. I have been watching various TV channels but off late they more look sponsored mouthpiece and are low on credibility. The affliction is not obvious but you need to follow the lead to decipher affinity. NDTV to me looks to be more pro Congress. They were frenzied over Rahul Gandhi and covering every move in his campaign creating an environment as if Congress is all set to make a big comeback in UP politics. They made people believe in virtual world created by media hype.
That's what media can do rather than giving you a honest and true reports. It creates a Halo effect, mesmerize and hypnotize you and make you believe in twisted or half truth. Opinion polls, Neta ji's irresponsible remarks and what not to confuse junta but truth was very hard hitting for all these news maker and sense of relief for common people.
I believe that UP has given another chance to hope becuase out of the available options that was the most sensible. You can trust Congress and BJP. One has a track record for misgovernance and corruption and were promising corruption free and progressive UP.Magic, Isn't it!! People find it as a practical joke and return the favour by showing "Thenga" to "Haath".
BJP after Vajpayee is hollow bubble without much mass. They believe that they are default alternative for non performing congress. People will take them with both hands in elections. That myth was shattered though.
Punjab, people have put faith in development and here also Congress get a boot. It was again to do with Congress negative image and giving Akali's second shot to rule the state.
Of all , I believe Goa was the best. It was blatant disrespect to people and attempt to disguise monarchy in democracy. Congress was throwing tickets to all cousins, brother, mothers and that to same bunch of people who were notorious for corruption. Same disdain attitude by congress and same Thenga back by people.
In short it was verdict for hope. Lets hope for development, less corruption and better life for common people.
