IAC Analysis from Optimist

Once again there are ripples, if not waves which are symbolism of disturbance. IAC is back and carrying forward with their agenda where they left. Over an year, I have elevated myself from distant supporter to close onlookers. I am chasing all news and in fact sign up twitter unwillingly to get IAC feed. This time around the analysis is on Anna crowd pulling capacity and has the movement died down. People are giving their own version and there is a handful, who keeps switching from one talk show to another. Few condemn it with disdain, few in a polished way, few based on reasoning. However, I don't understand their prophecy or legitimacy. "How to run movement" doesn't come with a guide, taught in school or has easy explanation like Gavaskar or Richards blaming weather, pitch or selection in their typical postmortem analysis of Indian debacle. They are not even Gavaskar or Richards in their field not even Chetan Sharma (with due respect).

Here is my view, I am disheartened by media reports that IAC is not a powerhouse as it was before and can’t pull crowds. As there is no progress from last year on corruption front and if people were angry last year they have all the more reasons to be ferocious this time. Therefore, I refuse to believe that support has died down. There is hardly anything done by any political party or government to give solace or hope to common man so how can anger die down. They may not have gone to Jantar Mantar but it is still simmering somewhere so logically movement cannot die down. Numbers can keep going up or down as it is unpredictable phenomenon.

For fact finding, I log on to IAC live feed. At least for Saturday it was decent as I don't have any barometer to bucket it as heavy, light or moderate response but definitively positive as you have a vibrant environment. There are enough people to fill the entire place. If you listen to people on the stage they look more sincere and dedicated to cause. It gives you and me chance to take center stage. I don’t even know many of them, there was a doctor, eunuch, Retired Major, volunteer from Hissar. They were speaking on their experience and struggle and were far better and authentic than crowd of thousands receiving lip services from netas. In all honesty, i am not sure if any of the neta is a crowd puller by itself.  In their rallies lakhs is spent and crowd is pulled from all over. I listened to Rahul, Mulayam and Mayawati's rallies but they were more about back biting and political bashing than something of substance.

Argument from likes of Mani Shankar Iyyer, Salman Khurshid , Kapil Sibbal make me feel belittle as it gives an impression that they are mocking at us and can completely run down our emotions. Our emotions- because we share the same pain as IAC highlighting, somewhere we feel attached to them more than congress or others. I have least faith and respect for this government however optimistic I try to be.

Now let’s turn the spotlight to other side and start debating on "How is govt response" to cause and media should have debated that. This will be suicidal move as  nobody can be explicit and spared too. It’s easy to prey more gullible target, that’s the law of jungle and that’s the law of land.
Congress is complaining that their fast is for no reason or rhyme and they are habitual of it. A counter argument to this is what visible positive steps you have taken to prove that their fast is irrelevant, out of place and not needed. On contrary, your actions hardly give any hope to dent corruption, leave alone diminish or demolish. UPA 2 regime has added not only misery but insult to common man. They are engaged in all means and mode to pull them through till 2014.
Isn't it duty of oppositions, that they should check the government and have taken this fight for us. Someone from opposition should be torch bearer to fight for this cause. we as taxpayers can have that minimum expectation. When they have such high regard for constitution, parliament then this is THE CAUSE. Go ahead and walk the talk.

It’s not easy to challenge a govt and we have not seen it in our lifetime.I needs a lot of courage to stand against belligerent and insensitive establishment. You are at risk of your life, your family, your career. Also, I personally was not able to survive through the day without food so I can say it’s not child play and someone who is doing this for larger interest should be appreciated. They should be judged by their deeds and not by crowd barometer. They can’t generate crowds because crowd is us. They can’t be blame for our failure. They sure can be unsuccessful though. They are doing what they should be doing. It would have been easy to walk away and say we have done our best what else can we do if government is not budging, crowd is not coming. Who should we fight for?  Let’s move on with our life as many others but they are persistent, foolhardy and obdurate enough to stand against not just government but all powerful and apathetic political class.

In end, I don't believe that I am followed by many but still few stray visitors might say who the hell are you giving gyaan ..My honest answer is nobody. All I am doing is making noise; this is what I have learned if you don't like something least you can do is shout with the chorus and be heard.
I learned from my experience, you have to dig deep to get true sense of reality as sometime in drawing room all you get is abberated version. You should have self belief rather than disillusioned. If you believe in cause stand for it. Why make it complicated by  theories and theorem. To me, its more middle class dilemma..we have been passive for years after independence. Its hard to gear up and shun our fear, overcome our despondency, chalta hain attitude, and above all what difference can I make.. we are plagued by escapism .

This time I honestly hope people will share their feedback, likes or dislikes rather than wandering about.
