Tale of three cities

I have spent most of my life in three cities Meerut, Delhi and Bangalore. I give you a glimpse of these cities through my eyes.
Meerut is still in slumber and is in same state as it was when i was born. Well almost.A tier 2 city having a huge potentital to grow being its proximity to delhi but run by entirely different set of governing principle. Here a handful few gets priority over million others like most of India. It is powered by government jobs and local business community. Atmosphere hardly promotes a zeal to zoom ahead and think of future. In contrast another city almost Meerut of South - Bangalore has changed for ever. Thanks to better education, IT revolution and beter governance. I moved to this city 4 years back with high expectation and why not it was IT hub of India. It turned into a anti climax the moment I stepped out of small littelr railway station like airport. City was too crowded with literally no roads and Traffic jam adn road block all around. It gives you a look of tareed jarred city struggling to meet people's demand with limited resources and going to break off the seam. However since last three years there has been decent progress.Citizen and Industrialist lobby is very strong here and they put good amount of pressure on government to perform but then government too need to respond which it hasn't in past. Thankfully it did in BJP era.You see VOLVO buses plying in city, public transport is descent and showing sign of further improvement with coming of metro, signal free corridor. This is one city with lot of lung space so living is far easy compared to polluted and eternally choking Delhi and Meerut. Also, one of the few places in India with better road sense.Government school even in the remote villages did hold to basic standard of education and you see vegetable vendors and security gaurd with decent command over english. Its heartening and gives hope that we will see a flat world sooner than later
Delhi is one city which is best in infrastructure within India and backed by a commited government. You have seen Metro stretching out, LPG driven transport, wide roads and numerous flyovers. Not to say that commonwealth is going to leave it much better. This is definitely one city which leaves impression. I really want to see Yamuna bank developed like nay modern city.Delhi will be city to watch. This is one city which is closest to meet internation city standard.
This clearly shows that sincere and commited government can definitely make the change and at good pace without leaving genereations to wait in disgust, hope and dismay. However, we are refering to oasis in desert and though a optimmist to core, I feel my confidece shaken. We are already behind by atleast 20 years from best countries in world and will we ever reach there with kind of present state of indian politics. It makes it more evident that voting is a must for each and every one of us. It should be a self imposed mandatory discipline. Also, we cant just leave it to governments, we need to contibute in tandem in our own littel meaningful ways. Charity to me is escapism as it hardly change things but push it to tomorrow. We need to make a difference to see change and these delta contribution from billion can definitely make sea of changes.
